Whether it’s your own private paradise, or you just like to keep your bathroom as clean and clear as possible, saving space in your en suite is extremely important. This space in en suites tends not to be that generous, but that’s beside the point. There are plenty of things you can do to make sure you’re not cluttering up the place.
First, try to maintain as much free floor and worktop space as possible. If you’ve got lots of knick-knacks, cosmetics and beauty appliances and so on, make sure you’ve got some drawer units or cupboards to hide all the clutter. Many of these units are designed to be slim in depth, so you get to tuck away all the things you’d like to hide without taking up too much room.
Next should be the wall fixtures. Did you know that you can get recessed toilet roll holders, for example? That means your toilet roll will be fitted into a recessed unit, instead of poking out into room space. It may only be something small, but you’ll be amazed what difference these little touches make.
A recessed toilet roll holder will also give your en suite that extra bit of hotel style, too. As an en suite is usually fairly compact, they won’t require a huge amount of heating. If you do want something to get your towels toasty in the morning, though, try a wall mounted heated towel rail. You can get them in a huge variety of styles and they’ll hardly take up any room. You’ve no doubt seen mirror units, too. Why not think about fitting them into the wall? That means you’ll get a large mirror and a storage unit that takes up no space at all in your room. If you can, make the mirror as large as possible. It might just be a trick of the light, but it’s amazing how much bigger the room will feel with a big mirror.
Also, while white is a go to colour for bathrooms, there’s a good reason for that. Lighter tones give an expansive feel to the space. If you do want to use colour in a little bathroom, be sparing with it. You can get a good splash of personality without letting it take over.
