A New Bathroom In Newton Mearns For The Telfers

A New Bathroom In Newton Mearns For The Telfers

When asked to design a bathroom for a client the My Beautiful Bathroom team aren’t in the business of ‘recommending’ one particular type of bathroom suite. Nor are we a company who believes in a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

And that’s why when it came to designing a new bathroom in Newton Mearns for Mr & Mrs Telfer we listened carefully and came up with a list of suggestions which were immediately accepted by the couple.

This included a modern bathroom, full wall and floor tiling, a PVC ceiling and tiles in a brown shade.

It’s not the first choice of today’s interior designers, but the Mr & Mrs Telfer were not looking for ultra-modern.  What they wanted was ultra-comfortable and low-maintenance. Hence the smart-looking PVC ceiling which retains its looks without the need for regular painting and the tiled walls (again, which don’t require painting but a simple wipe to keep clean and look good as new).

Having hired My Beautiful Bathroom and the team to install their Kitchen the previous year, the Telfor’s had no doubts that they were in good hands when it came to their bathroom and that the team would give them the kind of bathroom they envisaged. And indeed, they were extremely happy with the end results.

The bathroom furniture the couple opted for was in easy-to-match white. The plumbing for the toilet was desgined in to fit in with the piece of free-standing white furniture beneath the sink.

The couple were looking for a shower to be installed and a quadrant version was deemed to be the type of installation which would make the best use of existing space in the room. The shower itself was a Triton T8OZ in white. Large cream ceramic tiles were chosen for the walls – again to increase the sense of space in the bathroom. A subtle mosaic feature was added three quarters of the way up the height of the walls, right around the room, in order to add interest to the tiles which were the same throughout.

An easy-to-keep-clean darker, brown tile (Kamala) was also chosen for the flooring and to fit in nicely with the existing wall tiles.

A heated, feature towel rail in chrome added silver to the existing colour scheme and instead of one major light source, a set of modern recessed down lights were installed to give the room a warm glow rather than a stark light.
