Bathroom Lighting To Set The Mood

Bathroom Lighting To Set The Mood
Although it may cause you to squint a little hard first thing in the morning, the lighting in your bathroom is extremely important. It helps set the mood in the room as well as dictating how well you can see yourself in the mirror, so whether it’s extras to enhance the light or original fittings, the options are certainly worth considering.
To start, consider the natural light you might already have. If you’re lucky enough to have an east facing window, your room will be bathed in sunlight every morning. There’s no need to do anything fancy, just make sure you’re not covering it up. That little ray of sunshine is a certified feel good factor, so make the most of it.
If the natural light in your bathroom isn’t so great – worry not. A lot of modern bathrooms use LED or halogen lighting to give the space a very clean brightness, and there’s no limit really to where you position them.
You can have special spotlights around the room, or space them out equally to give you an even light. They work particularly well with a dimmer switch, so if you want a lower level of light while you’re enjoying a bath, you can have the option to soften it.
There’s the good old fashioned strip lighting, which might not be the most elegant way to light your room, but it’s certainly effective. A single strip bulb will light most bathrooms adequately, which is much easier to maintain than changing lots of little bulbs from time to time.
You could even use them as a back light behind a mirrored cabinet – they work really well as a vanity mirror. That said, if you like to get up close and personal with the mirror, there are special vanity lights you can install to better suit the purpose. Whether you’re shaving or threading your eyebrows, these offer a focused source of light in the room, so you can get a clear view of what you’re doing.
You can easily add them to a different switch too, so you only turn them on when you need them. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of good, old fashioned candle light. It’s cheap, it’s romantic and after a hard day, there’s nothing better than a long soak in the tub with some low level mood lighting to help you relax. They’re actually pretty useful, as not only will they provide light, but the scented ones fill the room with wonderful aromas and when you’re not using them, they work as great little accessories too.
The options really are endless, and there’s nothing to stop you using a combination off all the different lighting methods and more. It’s your space so make sure you get exactly what you want, and if you’re not sure about the best way to get it – speak to the experts. They can help you get the bathroom you’ve always dreamed of.
