In order to stay on top of our game, here at My Beautiful Bathroom we pride ourselves on staying ahead of the latest trends. It means we’re always kept in the loop about new techniques, technology and fashions, but it also keeps our designers on their toes, too.
We’re always adding to our ever-growing list of skills and services. So what’s going to be the big things for bathrooms in 2013? We’ve pulled together our top 3 bathroom tips.
Top of the list this year is going to adding art into your bathroom. Why not?
Up until now the bathroom has always been a pretty clean kind of space. The mixture of heat and moisture isn’t going to lend itself well to fine works of art, however there’s no reason you can’t get your favourite print framed and make a feature of it. You don’t have to hang the Mona Lisa over your toilet; you could even get a personal photo blown up or make a collage of them. This year, anything is better than blank walls!
The same goes for the splash back around your sink and shower.
Consider making a feature out of some different coloured tiles, or even having them cut into some unique shapes and have a totally bespoke design laid in. Of course you’ll need a pretty good tiler to help you out with this one.
Last, but certainly not least, is making sure you stay as green-fingered as possible. We know everyone bangs on about being energy efficient, but it’s never been more important.
There are loads of ways to make sure you keep your water consumption down. Turning off the tap while you brush your teeth, setting your radiator or underfloor heating to a timer, or even creating some gorgeous lighting effects with long-lasting halogen bulbs.
Just ask any first-class electrician; they’ve got loads of ideas. If nothing else, you stand to save a fair few quid in the long run, too.
