A good way to source a bathroom fitter is by recommendation ie ask people who’ve recently had their bathroom designed and fitted and are happy with it to pass on the name of their fitter. A good tip is to wait until a year has passed though as that’s when fitments – if they’re going to – start to fail will.

Also, if you’re passing a home where they’re obviously having a new bathroom fitted, get the installers card and ring him when it’s finished. Ask if you can take a look at it. That way you’ll know what the quality of their workmanship looks like. In the event no recommendation is forthcoming and no neighbour is hiring, you could ring around for a few quotes after sourcing companies in your area on Google.

Another good thing to look for is unbelievably amazing customers reviews online. Always “google” the company your thinking of using name and see what comes up.

Another good place to look is facebook or other social media sites. If the company is active, posting regularly and responding to comments then that’s a good sign that they take service seriously.

Make sure the company or individual you’ve asked is willing to come out and have a chat with you and look over your bathroom prior to quoting (all the better if it’s a free quote )

That way will they know exactly what the job involves and exactly how much you’re planning to spend. And never use a friend or their family in case it all goes wrong! Remember too that you’re looking for a bathroom fitter and not just a plumber or electrician.

You’re going to want a company who have electrical, plumbing, AND tiling knowledge.

It may sound a tad paranoid, but does the firm who are going to be coming into your home have Criminal Records Bureau clearance and certification to verify this? After all, you’re probably going to be leaving them on their quite a bit, especially if the household is all out working during the day. It won’t take a minute to check.

 So How Much Should Your New Bathroom Cost And What’s A Good Deal For A Bathroom?

There is not really such a thing as an average price for a bathroom, it really depends on how much work you require, the quality of fitments you choose and if you need furniture etc.

If it helps an average full bathroom suite including suite, fitting and tiling can range from around £3,500 to £8,000.

If this seems a lot remember how many years you’ll get from that!

If you’re paying quite a bit less than that there’ll be a reason ie the fitter isn’t as good as he says he is or the products he’s using are of low quality. You should discover which one – or both – within a matter of months after the job has been completed… unfortunately.
