We get a lot of questions about what can – and can’t – be done with a bathroom.
Well, that’s the subject of today’s makeover video we’ve shared our tops tips to make your new bathroom, en-suite or cloakroom super cool.
Our customer Lynsday had an en-suite which had seen better days. With the old design the furniture was dated and the whole room was in need of a revamp.
As well as creating a snazzy modern design with a separate bath and showering area.
We were able to create a feature tiled wall and add in some much needed storage space and that made it a far more enjoyable room to be in.
But, don’t take our word for it. Watch the video and take a look through some of our top tips below.
The most important thing!
Choose nice tiles, yes we know it costs more…
BUT, go for the nicest tile you can afford as tiles are the thing that’s really going to set your bathroom off.
Pick something you really like as your going to be looking at it everyday for years to come.
You can never have too much light in a bathroom.
A nice LED mirror and good lighting in the ceiling is essential.
LED Mirrors are available in lots of different shapes and sizes, and if you want to add something extra then choose a blue tooth model where you can hook up your phone and play your tunes while having a soak.
Choose basin furniture
This will make the most of your bathroom storage and keep the clutter at bay, you can thank us later.
Then make a big statement by choosing a nice tap to compliment.
Having nice furniture and accessories helps to provide a luxury feel.
Here we designed in a 2 drawer basin for extra storage and a waterfall tap which adds a bit of glamour to the bathroom which our customer loved.
If you really want to give your bathroom a minimalist look then choose a back to the wall WC.
This means all the plumbing and pipework will be hidden behind the WC allowing for a modern look.
And for ultra modern then why not choose a ‘rim-less’ pan, like here.
Why have one shower when you can have two.
A dual shower like this one with give you the benefit of a drench head and also a body wash, perfect if you’ve got little ones.
If you want to create a talking point then remove your old traditional radiator and replace it with something funky.
It’s sure to get the tongue’s wagging!
Be careful though as a lot of the models that the DIY places offer are really just decorative towel warmers and won’t be warm enough to heat the room.
