New Additional Bathroom For A New Year
New Additional Bathroom For A New Year?
If you have been thinking of adding a new bathroom to your home for a few years but just not got around to it, then a new year is always a good time to call in My Beautiful Bathroom and receive some bathroom design advice and help with choosing your perfect bathroom suite.
Our team of expert designers has been transforming bathroom designs into reality in Glasgow, Edinburgh and throughout Scotland for over 20 years.
All you have to do is sit back and let us get on with your new bathroom. To see what we’re capable of, it probably makes sense to scroll through some of the bathroom projects we have been involved in and feature within this site, they may also provide you with some added inspiration. It’s often possible to produce a bathroom from a redundant space in your home or certainly one that’s well under-utilised such as a cloakroom or a large under the stairs cupboard which has just ended up as a junk repository and a home for the hoover for some time now. We’ll be able to advise whether this is possible and if you’re likely to achieve the necessary planning permission. Granted it’s a smaller space than a purpose-built bathroom renovation but there are plenty of design-type tricks you can incorporate here so that claustrophobia doesn’t weight in.
Styling Tips To Make A Small Space Into A Reasonable-Sized Bathroom
- Fit corner furniture ie a rounded corner sink is a great space-saving device
- Sinks can also come with built-in storage, giving you two piece of bathroom furniture in one unit.
- Try fitting bold wallpaper, paradoxically it won’t make the room look smaller but will open it up instead
- Fit a huge mirror which will reflect back the empty space in the room and make it seem much larger than it actually is
- Think about fitting a wall-hanging toilet and basin where in the case of the toilet, for instance, the cistern is hidden behind a specially-created false wall. This concept makes the room appear larger because there’s nothing on the floor causing clutter. The eye scans an empty floor, giving the feeling of space
- Fitting a sliding door instead of one which opens inwards can work. So too can a folding door
- Make sure that the accessories and the fittings are an appropriate size for the space being renovated. For instance taps come in large, medium and small sizes as do toilet holders, towel holders and radiators
