Shake Things Up With A New Shower Room – Design Ideas to Refresh Your Bathroom
If you are someone who prefers the feeling of a warm shower then this blog may help you with your new bathroom design.
The My Beautiful Bathroom team has over 20 years of experience designing bathrooms in Glasgow, Edinburgh and throughout Scotland, and for 20 years he has been hearing that age-old argument about which is best is it the quick and easy option of having a shower or relaxing in a warm soothing bath.
We all have our personal preferences of course, but today at My Beautiful Bathroom we reckon we are probably going to make you think the former is best, here are a few things to consider for your new shower room.
New Looks For your Shower Space, Modern Bathroom Ideas depending on who will be using it
If it’s just for yourself and your partner, then it should be fairly simple to come up with a custom shower design for adults, incorporating the elegance of waterproof bathroom wall decorations to match the tiles or wallpaper in the rest of the room, or maybe a beautiful tile floor. However, if you have children, their needs (and height especially) will obviously have to be taken into consideration too. For instance, would you like a hand shower? Combined with a slide bar, this would suit all the family as the showerhead could be moved up and down to accommodate the differing heights of both the adults and children in the household, enhancing the versatility of your shower space.
Other shower area adjustments
- Digital shower controls allow each individual member of the family to easily and instantly set the temperature and pressure exactly the way he or she likes it
- Speakers can also be adjusted to suit individual preference ie to play music, listen to radio talk shows or the news bulletin or even get lost in audiobooks depending on what time of day it is and the mood you find yourself in
- Wall sprays can be fitted at particular levels in the shower to help with certain physical conditions, for example, a painful lower back, a touch of arthritis or a long-term sports injury which could be soothed by blasts of massaging hot water
- Depending on whether you enjoy a quick water blast from your shower or a light gentle spraying mist, then it’s possible to have a number of different showerheads fitted to align with your personal preference
Upgrading a Shower to meet additional needs
- The elderly and those unsteady on their feet often welcome the inclusion of a grab bar in a shower area to help them enter or exit the area and ensure they don’t slip on a wet tiled floor
- All of us – not just those of a certain age – would welcome a seat in our shower too at times, especially after a long hard day (this is the point where bath lovers come in and say this is why nothing beats a good soak in the bathtub for easing the muscles and overall relaxation). A seat in the shower space would also make chores such as shaving and other shower activities (toenail cutting) far easier and more comfortable to deal with.
