Thinking Of Installing A New Bathroom?
If you have been promising yourself a new bathroom design for years but are not sure where to start then don’t worry as My Beautiful Bathroom is happy to help you start planning and designing your new bathroom suite.
However here are a few things to consider. After all, you and your family are the ones who are going to have to be living with a new bathroom for years to come.
What To Ask Your Bathroom Fitter
First off, you’ll want the proposed bathroom installers to visit your home and give you a quote. A quote over the telephone just isn’t good enough. We would always recommend getting three separate quotes
Don’t just choose on price alone. You’ll want an example of quality and to see examples of completed work the firm has already completed and if possible ask if it’d be possible to visit one or two of them to set your mind at rest. This shouldn’t be a problem for a reputable firm
Ask your neighbours, work colleagues or family to see if any of them can give you a recommendation for a firm which has already completed work in their own home and to a high standard
Ensure the firm you decide to go with are all experienced and qualified in their trade by asking to see documents certifying this
Questions Your Chosen Bathroom Fitter Should Be Able To Answer
If your new bathroom requires planning consent, has this been agreed by the local authority?
Will they organise for the removal of the old bathroom suite and the cleanup of any resultant mess?
How long is the bathroom likely to be out of bounds for?
Can they guarantee that the work will be completed on time and within budget?
Will they provide plenty of design ideas and sample materials for you to choose from?
Other Things To Consider When Planning Your Bathroom Installation
How much are you prepared to spend on your new bathroom? Is it worth spending a lot if you’re planning to move soon? In which case how much more would a ‘luxurious’ bathroom add to the resale value of your home?
How up-to-date and trendy do you want your bathroom to look bearing in mind fashions can change rather rapidly and look outdated quicker than if you went for a more ‘classic’ style of suite?
One thing we should point out is that a bathroom which hasn’t been renovated for years can sometimes throw up the odd nasty surprise such as dampness or an undiscovered leak. Any good bathroom fitter should be able to overcome this and repair this type of problem but it should be taken into account when it comes to the timescale and fitting of your new bathroom.
