Make A Statement In your Bathroom With A New Designer Radiator

There’s nothing nicer than going in to the bathroom on a freezing winter morning to feel it all cosy and snug because you’d timed the radiator to go on an hour earlier. Actually there is something nicer – coming out of the bath and cuddling into a big thick white fluffy towel which has been toasting on the radiator all the while you’ve been submerged in the water.

Ok, so we’ve established that bathroom radiators are essential to your comfort and happiness. But getting the right radiators in the first place can take a little research. Of course, here at My Beautiful Bathroom we can advise you on the best type of radiator for your bathroom.

But you’re as well to know a little of what you’re going to be forking out money on.

 Different Types Of Bathrooms Radiators

Essentially, there are around five main types of radiators.

Some styles have the kudos of being more energy efficient, others tick the good looking box. You can tell how much heat your radiator is destined to provide by checking its output (measured in either British Thermal Units (BTUs) or Watts).

  • Compact – The most common type and if you haven’t had your bathroom upgraded then this is the type your likely to have. This is an ideal bathroom radiator If it’s purely heat your after and not looks. It doesn’t take up much space and comes with both a fitted grill on top and end panels, making it a rather tidy little number
  • Tubular Towel Rail – The most popular choice for those looking to bring there bathroom up to the 21st century. It’s a good looking bathroom heater but it tends to be quite a bit more expensive to buy than the others purely because of its aesthetic appeal. This will come in a variety of surface finishes such as chrome, anthracite, and stainless steel and takes up very little space. And it’ll not only heat the towels but the whole room too. Lovely!
  • Flat Panel – if you like the minimalist look this is the radiator for you. Like the compact version this also has a grill and end panels but tends to be used more in kitchen or office environments.
  • Low Surface Temperature – a clever buy when you’ve small children around. For obvious reasons this type of radiator is frequently found in nurseries and hospitals.
  • Traditional Style – Perfect if you are looking to add a bit of traditional styling to your kitchen or bathroom. Available in cast iron with lots of colour choice.

 Radiators For Maximum Warmth

When it comes to getting the most heat from your radiator you’re looking at a double panel version. This is because the more surface area there is, the better the heat (and two panels obviously provide more surface area than one).

Convector fins (the metal zig zags at the back of a single panel radiator or sandwiched between the two panels in a double) add even more heat. However, there’s no point putting a big bulky two panel heater in a small bathroom as it’ll just look out of place and eventually become an annoyance so this has to be weighed up with the heat issue.
