Brighten Up Your Bathroom – On A Budget

Brighten Up Your Bathroom – On A Budget

Is your Bathroom looking a bit tired and dated? Don’t despair.

There’s little things you can do which can make a big difference when it comes to the smallest room in the house. And it won’t cost a fortune either. Here at My Beautiful Bathroom Installations we undertake complete bathroom transformations. But we do minimalist projects too – those schemes which can also have a major effect on the way your bathroom looks and feels.

What kind of alterations are we talking about?

Well from changing the shower head to installing a new toilet seat – it all helps to modernise your bathroom and give it a freshen up.

The current trend is for the bathroom to use as many natural materials as possible such as wood and stone (although obviously the wood is for decorative rather than functional areas).

Another fashion is for fixtures to move away from the shiny look to the less eye-catching matte instead. According to a recent report on sky news the average person spends around £6,500 on a bathroom renovation project.

Read through the following list and you may be pleasantly surprised at what you can achieve without spending a fortune. Of course if you are looking for a completely new bathroom then contact us, we’d be delighted to help.

 Change The Bathroom Fittings

Make your bathroom seem bigger and brighter with a wall-mounted toilet and sink. The tank for the wall mounted toilet is recessed into your bathroom wall, saving you valuable space in the remainder of the room (around eight inches on average). It’ll also make the bathroom seem less cluttered as there’ll be more leg room underneath both the toilet and sink.

 Replace The Shower Head

Or, if you don’t want to go the whole way, why not just change the shower head? This is easy to replace and – if you invest in a power shower, for example – can make the difference between wanting to get out of bed in the morning and remaining under the duvet. For luxury you could get side jets fitted too (although this would obviously be a more expensive option).

 Put New Flooring Down

Rip up the old vinyl that’s been there for more years than you care to remember and treat yourself to fancy new flooring. Stained concrete for instance can look fantastic, so can wood-like laminate. Buy matching accessories and you’ll be amazed at the transformative effect this can have. Want your bathroom to look bigger? Then consider putting down tiles in a soft, neutral shade. Textured floor tiles can have a double boost of disguising dirt and providing a valuable non-slip surface.

Change The Taps On Your Sink And Bath

Make sure any new taps are in keeping with your current design. For instance, if you already have a modern bathroom then go for lever taps, if it’s more shabby chic think about installing a Victorian version. Consider a mixer tap too – you don’t always have to stick with just hot and cold.

Get Rid Of That Shower Curtain

One easy way to make a bathroom look bigger and, we have to say it, classier – is to take down the shower curtain and replace with a see-through shower door. It looks cleaner, it adds space to the room with being see-through and generally looks more modern. And it’s a lot easier to wipe clean. There’s also the added bonus that you don’t have to worry about mould!
