 New Modern Bathroom In Airdrie For The Downies

The Downies had no hesitation in contacting My Beautiful Bathroom to get the team back out to help them put in a lovely bathroom in their Airdrie home. After all they had already seen the impressive results of their kitchen the previous year.

They were also encouraged by the way My Beautiful team designed the bathroom and they knew their bathroom would receive the same outstanding attention to detail that their kitchen already displayed.

 

 Bathroom Suite

For their Airdrie home the Mr and Mrs Downie selected a modern bathroom and, like a lot of the My Beautiful Bathroom projects, the WC was designed directly to the wall to ensure no ugly pipes were visible.

A large thermostatic walk-in shower in silver was chosen and fitted, rather than a bath, which left an expanse of room in the remainder of the bathroom – a good move considering the bathroom wasn’t particularly large to begin with.

 

 Bathroom Wall Tiling

Large textured tiles in white were chosen to completely cover the walls. In addition an eye-catching, coloured mosaic tiles was designed at a height three quarters up the wall to add colour and contrast to the lighter shade.

 

 Bathroom Flooring

To add further contrast to the uniform white walls, beautiful black slate ceramic tiles were chosen for the floor. This also had a safety angle in that it meant there wouldn’t be any danger of either Mr or Mrs Downie slipping when they emerged from the shower onto a possibly wet bathroom floor.

 

 Bathroom Lighting And Ceiling

An already existing window in the bathroom provided adequate daylight.

All that was necessary then in terms of lighting was a set of modern recessed down lights to highlight particular areas of the room and provide added brightness at night.   The ceiling was completed in white pvc to keep in with the colour scheme of the remainder of the bathroom and to add brightness. It’s also very easy to keep clean so very little future maintenance would be required from the couple.

 

 Bathroom Accessories

A mirror with a white shelf was requested for above the toilet and opposite the shower. It’s also beside the window to allow the couple to view themselves in daylight rather than them having to rely on artificial lighting.
